I took out the R99 Elite Banking cheque acc thinking it was cost effective but i was wrong. My cheque acc has been going into the minus balance sine the last month, this is due to transactions that has been paid by swiping but Std Bank does NOT RESERVE THE PURCHASES so it reflects as available on my side until the merchant banks and then pushes my account in overdrawn, I have been charged an Honoring Fee of R120 per transaction. I raised this matter with various departments, the initial 2 honoring fees was refunded but on the then 30/09 I was charged an Honoring fee of R120, an overdraft fee of R2.33 and R57 for an Overdraft Interest Fee. I was told that the Overdraft fees is because the acc is overdrawn, ton the 2/10 I was charged R240 Honouring fees and my acc had gone in the minus balance again. i was advised by a Complaint Service consultant that Std Bank product team is working on looking at Reserving the purchases but until then I am paying for it. A consultant from the branch told me that she doesnt see why I was re-imbursed in the 1st place and that I am letting my account go into the minus balance on purpose. This is a deceiving product &service is extremely POOR.
