This is the second time in 3 months that I am affected by on my Standard Bank Account. a Large amount was deducted out of my account in July 2013 from South America, whilst I was in Pretoria. After hours and hours of holding on for the call centre I eventually got through. The promise to sort it out in 10 - 15 working days time ended up being months after the event happened. I had to constantly phone the call centre as their promises to call me back never materialized and they did not keep me informed on the progress as promised. In fact, they had to escalate the matter after 5 weeks due to no progress made.

Today I wanted to withdraw R500 from a Standard bank ATM. The transaction cancelled itself and the machine displayed a message that Standard Bank was experiencing Technical Difficulty and the transaction couldn't be completed. I then went to a FNB ATM, withdrew the R500, only to discover on my SMS Notification Service that the R500 from the first withdrawal went off from my account and I have not received any cash from the Standard Bank ATM. Again, phoned Line. Again another 15 days./ Why does this happen and take so long? Surely cameras?
