At 40 years old tomorrow (yay), having been lifelong client of FNB I am seething mad, lividly outraged & completely appalled by (new?) transaction rules - tantamount to blatant of supposedly valued clients granted apparently 'premiere' accounts. FNB seems no better than criminals cited as factors in justifying excessive fee inflation year on year - & poorer service
I got a FNB platinum credit card - implying some purported benefit.. at least some respect as good clean customer expected?
Awaiting replacement of faulty debit card, I'm limited to using platinum card.
I check online to ensure sufficient positive balance for my transacting needs - always avoid debt.
If no sufficient funds available when authorizing a purchase, transactions should naturally be declined..deposit more money to succeed.. simple.
Instead FNB happily authorizes a transaction request - success - as in NOT declined... then automatically penalizes me R260 for being 'overdrawn'
I never consented to this rule. Why decline some but allow these?
If insufficient funds - decline!
FNB misled me, then robbed me twice, gave me no info, option or choice.
Is this legal? certainly dishonest..not right
