10 day hold on failed Card Payment

I made a purchase at a shop with my Global One Debit Card and the transaction was declined although I had sufficient funds. Other attempts produced the same results. The total amount of R2373.59 was deducted as pending transactions on my account.

Branch personnel informed me I have to wait 10 days before the transactions will be reversed.

This is unacceptable to me. There was no negligence on my side.

This policy of refunding only after 10 days started when Capitec outsourced their Card processing to Mastercard with the introduction of the Global One card.

Capitec's urgent resolution of this unacceptable freezing of my funds is requested.
