I have vehicle financing through Absa, and a few months ago got a call offering me vehicle insurance. I declined, as I already have insurance.
Then last month received an SMS informing me that as I have not provided proof of insurance, I have been charged over R600 for insurance through Absa's AIP at end of August- this despite that I purchased my car less than a year and a half ago, and had to provide proof of insurance to both bank and dealer before I could even get the car!
So... I send Absa AIP proof of insurance, which I had to get from my insurer, because it had to be recent proof! A few days later - nothing. I call them, and they claim they did not receive anything from me! I resend, as instructed, explaining that I expect a reply. Nothing. I finally have a chance to check my end of September banking, and they have yet again deducted this AIP charge with my vehicle finance! I am NOT happy, and will be taking this further.
