On Friday 11 October I tried to draw money at a ATM. I got a error with a telephone number to call. On phoning the number I was informed that a Fica hold has been placed on my accounts and that I must go to the branch to get registered and the hold on my account removed. Nobody has sent me an SMS or phoned me to inform me of the pending Fica registration. According to the ABSA personel (Elize) my name was not on the contact list send to their branch. At this point I want to say that my account has been with ABSA (Trust Bank) at the same branch for 35 years. This could have caused a great embarresment if I wanted to purchase something. I do not think that a financial institution of this size should do this to their old and loyal customers.
