My husband and I have recently settled our home loan account in full. We had submitted a cancellation letter and proof of payment to the respective department and have received poor feedback. I have made numerous telephone calls to the call centre reeling no joy. I was advised my a call centre agent earlier that I will be liable for the insurance and assurance premiums until the bond is cancelled. I find it ridulous that I need to pay for added services when I already have settled my account prior to the stipulated time frame. I was told that I am liable for attorneys costs as well to gain access to our Title Deeds. It makes no sense. The bank is holding the deeds, interest rates have been paid for the insitution loaning us the funds... now they should cover costs to hand over the title deeds. A superior was meant to revert with outcomes and I have yet to receive a response. On consecutive occasions I was told that a call will be logged. The turn around time has not been met. I require urgent assistance.
