Cheque clearence, untrained staff

On the 01/10/13 I banked a cheque for a huge amount, the teller told me they do not to urgent clearence on cheques only express clearence which takes up to 10 dayd plus minus same as normal clearence. On Monday I went to the Goodwood branch and queried again, the teller again told me there was nothign they could do. THEN LAST NIGHT I CALLED THE CALL CENTRE AND THE CONSULTANT TOLD ME I CAN GET A LETTER FROM ABSA CONFIRMING THE VALIDITY OF THE CHEQUE, submit it to capitec and they clear it in 24 hours??? I feel the staff at the branch should have informed me when I banked the cheque on that day of this option. It was pathetic service even this morning when I tried to confirm the above they couldnt tell me. I am so dissapointed in Capitec's run around, when this cheque is clear it's a def. close for me.
