I bought a new Fiat500 in Oct 2012. The car had it's 1st service and they suggested the tyres to be rotated just to find out that the CV boot was damaged. I have a motor plan with Motor Rite. They confirmed telephonically that the car can be repaired. The day the car went in for repairs Fiat contacted me informing me that Motor Rite refuses to pay as it is not normal wear and tear. Fiat also refused to pay as they said it is not covered by the warranty. I ended up paying R1600 for the repair. Why even have a Motor plan or warranty if they just repute the claim. Who in their right mind has a brand new car inspected top to bottom.
I have never driven this car on a dirt or gravel road and always look out for potholes etc. when driving. The wheel alignment was not out and still in order. They are quick to take our money but not worried about their reputational risk. I feel that Fiat and Motor Rite should also take some responsibility.
