I applied for a personal loan and was declined due to affordability as Nedbank is claiming that i am paying a bond of R12K. My Husband and I have a joint bond of which i am contributing R6, 7K and he is contributing R7K. Whilst we are married in COP the bank has my 3 months statement which indicates that i pay the amount mentioned R6, 7not the whole bond and their reason is that if he is to apply as well his bond will be calculated at R12K, which then makes the Bond to be around R24K, I mean really??? the least that they could have done is to ask me to supply his bank statement and payslip and do a Proper vetting, and they said they do not want his details as this is an individual transaction, so if its individual then how do i end up only being liable for the whole bond, someone please explain this to me. i guess after this i will close my credit cards as well as my garage cards and stay with my bank. Its a pity the Loans consultant at Savanna is nice and know customer service however their credit department which is hiding behind systems is declining clients.
