I sent a secure message to Standard Bank almost a month ago requesting my cheque account to be closed. I got a call from a lady 24 hrs later who confirmed my request and advised that the account would be closed. I happened just to check this account a day ago and not only is the account still active but it has now run into minuses and when requesting this to be sorted I was advised that i will need to clear the negative balance so that the request can be actioned. It is not my fault that the account is in minuses because when i sent the request initially the account was cleared and could have been closed. I need to be sorted and resolved asap. I need this account to be closed!!!
