We had a huge storm, rain, wind high water table Etc. the house was built 30 years ago as were most of the houses around sun valley (in the days they new how to build houses) we have had no problems with the walls foundations or roof. The water table rose and flooded the land and right through the house, when the water receeded the concrete floor in the lounge dropped as the water took the sand away from under the it. Insurance answer was "Bad workmanship" and never paid out. We had to insure with Stanbic as our bond was with Standard Bank. I have seen houses go down sink holes which were made from a pipe leaking under ground, so a water table rising will take the earth under a house away.
