Capitec Standards unexplainable!

Hi

I am really unimpressed by the service I have just received from your Bedford Centre Branch.

I was told that by Capitec's standards my ID book was not appropriate to open an account due to the fact that there is selotape holding the ID together, on the sides of the ID book. THERE IS NO TAPE ON THE BARCODE, PHOTO or anything of importance and furthermore a member of Home affairs themselves had put the tape there.

I have a bank account with Standard Bank and FNB and in the past using the exact same ID I had an account with ABSA. I have also opened clothing accounts etc using the EXACT same ID book...

Now please tell me what makes your standards any higher than those of other bank and credit providers?

I have spoken to Leandre from the customer care and although she was helpful, I am still left wondering why do they have to put their noses up and if they are going to continue with such standards etc please put it on your site so that you don't waste everyone else's time, as due to the quality of South African ID books many people may have their ID's taped together in some way or another.
