MIBFA
Provident Fund/ Late Estate Payout

Everytime we go into Mibfa offices they are changing the payment amount of my late dad's Providend fund Withdrawal. We have applied for the withdrawal in May 2013. They have made us open a late estate account at First National Bank, that draws a lot of interest and now according to Sharon the supervisor the payout will only be - R2000. The concern is when the query was made we were told that an amount of R38 only left for payout. we then returned a week later and we were advised that the contribution was R38 per week for 38 years and that will be due to us. One month ago when I contacted the call center I was told payout would take place within 2 weeks but the amount could not be disclosed, When I phone back after 2 weeks, I was told the tax directive was declined and they would resubmit. I phoned again a week later and was told by the supervisor Sharon that I should collect a manual tax directive and take it to SARS and bring it back and submit it to the person working with the claim by the name of Nceto. When I looked at the amount of tax it was R643.44 and it concerned me that SARS would not take that little tax for a huge amount. They promised to phone me back to no avail.
