During January of 2003 i left my job at the then Delta motor corporation (Now General motors) after having worked there for 6 years. I was informed, after initially approaching Alexander forbes, that Old Mutual was in fact in charge of the fund during this time as i now have a complaint about my provident fund payout at that time. At the time I received a payout of about R24000. Even then I thought the amount was a bit odd but I trusted everything was in order. I was baffled when my girlfriend left her job with the same years service but halve the payrate received a bigger payout than me. All that was in 2003. I left it at that until recently I bumped into an old colleage of mine. He told me that he had a payout of R179000 even after his loan was deducted. Now even though he had 8 years service compared to my 6 years, he was also at a lower payrate. This information has now convinced me that my payout was incorrect and therefore my query. I would appreciate assistance in this regard as I would like to get to the bottom of this. My employee number at the time was 23045.
