FNB Home Loans disappoint

As an FNB account holder I have been a huge fan and advocate of FNB up until this point. But...

Almost three weeks ago I completed an online inquiry for a homeloan from FNB. Someone phoned me to confirm that a rep would phone me about my application. Then nothing.

The other day in an FNB branch I asked the lady to see if my application was on the system. The application was logged, but apparently there was a problem contacting me. I thought this a bit odd, so I phoned the number I got from the lady in the branch. That person was busy, so I left a message. That was a week ago.

On the other hand, yesterday I completed an online application with SA Homeloans. What a difference! This morning my call was returned and my loan provisionally approved. Obviously I still need to complete the final documentation, so it's not final, but FNB couldn't be bothered to even phone.

So, today I phoned the FNB homeloans department because I would prefer to stick with FNB and wanted to compare offers. Big mistake. Simply not the same service. Not even trying to be helpful. Nor even a similar offer. Apparently I don't fall into either Home Loan or Smart Loan.

Does FNB want to help me or not?
