Revolving Credit Account Closure

My wife and myself decided to close our accounts with Standard Bank and received a settlement quote on the 20th of July 2013 which was valid for the day, we then paid the money in on the same day and enquired if the account was settled which we were advised that it would take a couple of days before the account was settled.

We received a statement dated the 17th of September 2013 which reflects the payment and the Debit Order payment on the 1st of August 2013 and based on this it seems the account is still active.
