I tried to pay my Tshwane municipal account an amount of R1880.00 on the Easypay site. Now the transaction was declined on the Easypay site and the bank reserved the money - awaiting authorization.

My question is - why does the bank hold the money if Easypay has declined. Shouldn't the money be immediately available? Now i must fill the reversal form and wait 7days for the reversal.

Easypay doesn't want to be any part of this. They declined the card and they didn't take the money - they say.

Also Easypay doesn't indicate on their site that they do not accept accept payments over R1000.00 for municipal accounts. This is pure incompetence because now i have to do a lot of paperwork and wait 7days for something that can easily be avoided.
In the meantime, the municipal account falls in arrears.
