Motor Finance Corporation
Making Things Worse

I was retrenched in February 2012 and my funds finally ran out in May 2013 (I have faithfully being paying all my debts up until then). I tried to get my car payments transferred to a manual payment as I have nothing left in my FNB account and my Mom said she could possibly assist me with some of the car payments so that I can at least continue looking for work. All my other debtors have been more than obliging in this regard.

However Nedbank (MFC) refused to do this and tries, every month, to take ALL my arrears payment from an empty bank account. Except FNB charge me R300 per returned debit order. So instead of having a nil balance in my account from which I can start fresh once I have managed to find a job, I now have a negative balance of over R2'300 so far. So thank you Nedbank for making an already difficult situation even more traumatic and difficult - I really appreciate your ability and willingness to allow clients the flexibility to pay off debts in the best way they can manage under these circumstances. I thought ABSA was the worst bank, but I now know it's actually Nedbank!
