I am a client from Old Mutual for almost 19 years paying my premiums on time by debit order. Early this year I found a letter from them stating that my policy has collapse due to debitorders that did not go through. Immediately phone Old mutual the following day and i was told that the policy was in arrears for almost 5 months. I was shocked. The lady told me in order for me to re instate my policy I need to pay all the outstanding instalments in order to bring my policy up to day and by that time the amount was almost R5000. I cannot believe that such a big company can give such bad service, I told the lady can a not still pay the monthly instalments as well as a certain amount for the arrears amount. The answer was no. No sms no email to let the client know that the policy is in arrears only a letter after policy has already expired. The guy told me they have no control over there mail delivering. Thats not ecceptable. If they want to sell a policy to you they even come to your house. I am sooo unhappy with old Mutual and will never ever recommend a friend to them. Old Mutual your customer is your most important visitor. Please upgrade your communication system with your clients
