Closing of account not done for deceased person

Mrs EF Venter account 5471-2060-2469-0010 was not closed during July 2012 after her death. I as executor, went to ABSA Bank Sunnyside two days after her death, and asked that all accounts be closed. I also needed this to submit to the Master of the Court, which was done that same week. Absa kept sending the account, even though they were contacted time and time again by us informing them she had died. ABSA even requested the death certificate etc. AGAIN, but still nothing was done. On querying last week, Ms Machapa wanted us to settle the R400 plus balance in the account, before they will close the account. This amount has been adding up every month, because ABSA have kept on charging her bank fees every month! For over a year now! Dear Peter, thanks for your forum, because it seems the only way to get things done, is to complain here. Let's see if something will happen now.
