7 days to close account

I went to the bank last friday to close my account after its been locked. They SAID it will take 3 - 5 days To close it and transfer the money to my new account. Its now been 7 days and i am still waiting for them to transfer my money over. How on earth is it taking so long to close an account. Everytime i phone all they say its in progress
