First National Bank
Not following proper procedure

I not so long ago switched banks and wanted to close my FNB account and was told it is overdrawn therefore I need to pay the amount before the closure which I did and went to FNB Menlyn Mall to close the account.

It was confirmed that all was in order, no amount was owing, and was made to sign account closing documents which I did but was told a story about their systems and that the account will be closed the next day. That has never happened and as a results the account generates fees, the last statement I received yesterday 04/09/13 showed the account was in areas of R267.55, I deposited R300 and the account was cleared.

I have been now contacted by a company called GL Inc stating my Temporary Loan account has been handed over to them for collection.
FNB can not tell me when i took up this temporary loan because as far as I know you the client have to apply for it, the amount that this GL Inc says is owing is R641.00 where is that amount from? FNB cant even contact me themselves first whether by phone, email or text before opting for legal collection and im sure it is illegal to make one sign closing documents and not close the account. Great customer service FNB
