My Girlfriend is getting very irritated with FNB's communication problems to inform her as to what to do and who to call.
She wanted to close an FNB account and went into the bank to do so, they said there's a small amount due and then they'll close it, she payed it but the account remained opened only to find a small temporary loan attached that wasn't finished.
She made plans to pay it up and close the account, it racked up some interest so she made a payment to cover everything. got a call to sign papers "officially" closing the account and when she went to do so they said they couldn't close it due to the fact that that loan was in arrears and was handed over to lawyers.
frustrated she walked away and got a number to call. doing do today (Monday, 5 August) the lawyers said she's not on their system and that FNB is not doing their job properly. she then called the branch again and the consultant told her to redeposit the funds and they'll close it.
All the effort, traveling and transaction fees caused by miscomunication.
