Whilst on my way to work in the JHB CBD I was mugged at gun point. I handed over my phone as It was not worth risking my life over. I went to MTN and blocked the phone at witch point they gave me a form to complete along with a police report. I had a work engagement that required that I had to go to Bloemfontein for the weekend and ran out of time to complete the police report the police officer at the Roodepoort police station assured me that there is no time limit to reporting a crime and only a motor vehicle accident had a 24hr time limit. Upon my return Monday morning I immediately reported the crime. Finrite insurance now refuses to pay out my claim due to not reporting the crime in 48hrs which is not required by law. their insurance fee is still being added to my phone bill and no one has been in contact with me in regards to my letter to dispute the denying of the claim. I find the action of the insurance company's conduct to be in grave misconduct as per my claim. As per MTN'S recommendation and their instruction, I followed their advice and insured my Cell phone with FINRITE. WHAT A DISGRACE MTN!! YOU APPOINT COMPANIES WHO HAVE NO INTEGRITY!! SHAME ON YOU MTN & FINRITE!!
