During the end of 2012 I and a business partner opened a business account with FNB. Upon our application process i was told by the consultant that since we opening a business account with FNB I should also open a personal account with FNB which I did not want to do but was convinced otherwise by the consultant who also never explained anything about monthly charges that will occur regardless of the account not being used.
-The account ended up accumulating over R1000 before they decided to close the account
- R500 was successfully deposited into the account even though it was apparently closed and no access to the funds allowed.
- We've been considering moving our business account because our experience with FNB has never been pleasant.
- My problem is that I am now liable to pay fees that were never explained to me for an account that was not even in use recently.
I just want to know how they can wait for the charges can reach over R1000 before it was cancelled seeing that it was not in use and why I wasn't called to check whether I still wanted the account like one of the Secunda FNB branch said they should have.
