I made payments on the 25th of July for my discovery platinum card, after receiving my statement and made another payment in August. I noticed however, on my August statement that I had a late payment fee of R220 charged. I called Discovery and talked to one of the employees and he confirmed after checking that I had made payments on my card and would send a request to have the R220 reversed. There was a catch to this however as he wanted me to have a debit posting made on my account for my platinum card instead of my normal transfers I make after each statement. I refused as I want to see all payments that go off my account and track these accordingly.
Discovery now has sent me a letter that they will not refund the late payment fee charged and their reasoning being exactly what I have proven, that payments were made on the 25th of Juy and 26th fof August but they say payment on the 25th of July was still not on the new business date. That is not my problem, they then should get better software to verify payments and dates payments are made and not the useless software they use.
I generally hate DISCOVERY and their business practices.
