My car was written off in February, since then Outsurance legal department has been trying to get my excess back from the other party. I have paid over R50 000 in insurance premiums over the years for my car, and when my car was declared written off, Outsurance happily repaired my vehicle and auctioned it off; keeping the proceedings. They paid off my car and I ended up with less than R10 000 (including the excess which I have not yet received) to try purchase a new one. After all that, they keep sending me SMS's which state that there is no guarantee that they will recover my excess. Surely after all the money I have paid them, and all the money they have made off of auctioning my car, AND the money that they are trying to sue the other party for, they could just pay me out my R2650 excess. I am a student and that money is NEEDED for me to pay my bills etc. The fact that Outrsurance is only willing to pay out when they get the money from elsewhere is pathetic! Did my premium payments not count for anything!!!???
