Can't get a straight answe

I recently applied for an FNB credit card. Having a clear credit record according to the four major ITC companies and earning in access of R 750 000 per annum I was decline because of affordability?? Yet I have no account with any credit provider!!
On asking the exact reason I was told because the system says so and no good reason was cited for the decline!!
