An amount of R200, 000 was summarily taken by Absa from my farm account in lui of an overdraft facility. I have an agreement with Absa to pay the facility at R10, 000 per month and have religiously kept to this arrangement. The R200K which was taken by them is my operation expenses to keep my poultry farm afloat. I was horrified by their action and completely flabbergasted as I was not at default. However, my pleas fell on deaf ears and my request as to what justified such stern action, was to no avail. I advised them that should they not return the R200K, we face losing 240, 000 chicks and subsequently close the doors of our farm. As a consequence, we would not be in a position to settle the balance of the outstanding overdraft amount. I have in the interim (out of absolute desperation) written to Maria Ramos' office and to date have yet to receive a response, after I was promised by Basani Hlungwane on the 8th of August that they will look into the matter and respond within two business days. We are now on the 11th business day and I am eagerly awaiting some response from someone who can see the bigger picture. PLEASE HELP ME - I AM DESPERATE!!!
