My car was written off and the claims department of Discovery Insure informed me that the vehicle will be removed from my policy as soon as the account was settled, but I am welcome to add my new vehicle to the existing policy and it will continue. Today I found (by going on the website and checking my details) that my policy was cancelled, therefore since they removed the written off vehicle my new vehicle was not insured. Yesterday a tracker was installed on the new vehicle which is part of the insurance policy, but yesterday I had no insurance policy. Nobody at the call centre can be held accountable for this as it is clearly a problem with the main administration. After the issue was reffered to underwriting, I was informed that I am now a new client with Discovery Insure and have to provide all of my details again. My premium increased from 18 days ago when I added the new vehicle to my policy. The call centre tried everything possible to assist, but only have so much capacity. I refuse to be treated as a new client or have an increase on my premium. It is unacceptable that nobody with more capacity can assist in this regard.
