DISGUSTING SERVICE - query not sorted out

I contacted Standard Bank on 18/07/13 to close an account since I received a bill for R551. I was unsure of how I could owe R551 since my card expired in Feb and I had not received a replacement card for 6 months. I could not have used the card in order to incur a bill.

I was told if I pay the amount of R551.00 I can close the account. I paid the R551.00 and called the bank back the following day to close the account. I was only then told I cannot close the account as there is another amount due. This is impossible given the previous days conversation. I was told there is a debt order with a company called Deepdyve whom I have NEVER signed a debit order for.

I was told by the dept. that it would take 10 days to get back to me as a case had been opened. I did not hear back and so I called. I was put on hold for 40min through a course of being handed over to 3 different numbers as no one seems to know who must deal with this query. I was only then told by a Rifilwe Mbone, that nothing had been done in 10 days. I needed to fill in a form. Why was I not told about this before? I sent this form 15 Aug 2013. The query is still not sorted! I am owed R3411.90
