Waste of time

I was called 2 weeks ago by Bongani offering me a platinum credit card. He spent some time explaining the benefits of moving to the credit card and also spent time asking questions around affordability. He waited for his system to give him the verdict about whether i was approved or not. Once he had confirmation i was approved he asked for my verbal confirmation that i do indeed want to upgrade my credit card as well as increase my limit of which i agreed to both. He made arrangements for my card to be delivered within 3-7 working days and that was the end of the call. I called in today querying the status of my new card for delivery and was greeted with confusion from the agents as according to them i had been declined. So i wasted time in applying, wasted time in calling back and wasted time writing this report. Had i not called today, i would never have been informed about my application being declined. I am disappointed in the dishonesty around my application. I will relook at my options at other banks, i will not accept being falsely sold upgrades.
