Some months ago I stopped receiving printed credit card statements from Absa. As a result I had to guess the minimum amounts and dates of payment on my card account. When I went to an Absa branch to enquire what was going on, I was told that Absa had decided to send out only electronic statements -well, I never received a letter to that effect. It also turned out that they were sending the statements to an ancient email address. I explained the situation to the Absa credit card division in a fax on July 12, asking for details about any actual amounts outstanding - I was getting sms's, phone calls and letters about "arrears" that were contradictory, and I wanted to resolve the matter. I never received a reply, only more harassment in the form of sms's, phone calls and letters. Then I sent another fax on August 8. Again no reply. I have proof that both faxes went through. So what are the people at the Absa Card Division doing when they can't even respond to faxes from a client?
