At the end of 2012, I was informed by FNB when trying to open a Chq acc with them, that ABSA had put a black mark on my credit status. No one was able to tell me why. I then went to ABSA where no one there was able to tell me anything wrt to the mark on my name. I was then given the name & details of a Vanessa Johnson at the ABSA credit card division. I called her & was informed that someone had tried to apply for a credit card with my details in & as a result a block put on my credit status. As a result I am now able to NOTHING. She requested that I send an affidavit through to her in order for this matter to be investigated & I have since not heard a word. My phone calls are not returned & my emails not replied on. This matter is now urgent for me as I am not able to open any accounts as I just get turned away.
I would appreciate it if someone from ABSA could actually do something to help me. If I go to the bank, I am turned away saying it has nothing to do with them. I think this whole situation is absolutely appauling! Is this really how you treat your customers? It is such a nightmare!
