Poor Feedback in processing claim

I caught my maid & after getting a case number, when putting in a claim. I explained that I did not know the value of the ring. The gentleman who was handling my claim said that he would discuss this with your internal jewelers. A few days later I phoned, & explained that I could not get hold of the man who gave it to me. He no longer lives in South Africa, & was told that the system was updated. Then a few days after, after I received a sms from the SAP to say that my case was moved, I phoned & informed of this & nothing else was requested.
This morning I phoned in & was told that they were waiting for the valuation of the ring & could not proceed. I did lose it & after calming down I asked them to put this in writing to me, which has not happened. Then amazing thing is when you update your policy before you finish the call you have an email with your new premiums and I'm sure if you missed a payment, someone would be phoning you to get the money in and would constantly be following up.
However, for a claim the client is the one following up?
I have had extremely good service, in the past but this time round I have found the service very disappointing.
