I have submitted all documents for FICA purposes to Standard Bank Brackenfell. The clerk who assisted me said she can't do it and will hand it to someone else. Two weeks later my card was declined at every store I tried to present it "authorisation required". When I went back to the branch they found "nothing wrong". Card division told me the branch did not update the particulars. When I again went to the branch they "apologised for the inconvenience" and told me the card will work within 2hrs. Needless to say the card is still being declined everywhere: "Authorisation required". How much bad service is enough? previously the bank cancelled my bank card as "a new card has been issued", while I was on holiday on the UK - without me having acknowledged receipt of a new card! Then the buck was also passed: Jhb said it was Cape Town and Cape Town said it was Jhb!
