Credit Card that isn't

As a rule I'm quite happy with Capitec; their costs are low and their staff friendly.
However, a couple of months ago I was offered the chance to upgrade my bankcard to a super-dooper, shop online, do everything 'pseudo' credit card. It's not a real card, but according to the staff at the bank it's 'as good as'. For a fee of course.

Problem is it doesn't work as advertised. I've tried numerous online transactions, everything from Amazon to UNISA, Kalahari to WOOT. Absolutely none of them accepts this card as a valid form of payment. I've even had some shops decline it as a CC.

There are many valid reasons to switch to Capitec, but if online purchases are important to you then I suggest you pass.
