I would like to say that the Capitec sms sytem does not work, and to think unlike FNB who gives you in contact for free, we pay extra for this service at Capitec. Here is how Capitec's sms service works. You go swipe your card at the shops, and then receive a sms telling you how much you spent and what is left, but your sms is lieing to you and this is why: they show you the money has been deducted but in fact it has not, the money is still in your account so you go and land up spending more than what you have and then up to as late as 20 days later they only deduct the money but you received an sms on the day that the money was already deducted from your account. And this is even causing people who do not have overdrafts to go into the red with Capitec. I received an sms on the 06/01/2013 appoligising for this yet from then to now it's still happening to my account... I don't have time to babysit the bank and log online everytime I swipe my card to check the transaction came off. If I had wanted a credit Card I would have applied for it. I will definetley be closing my bank at the end of January and off to FNB I go.
