I paid money from ABSA into a Standard Bank account via the internet. I mistakenly left out a digit in die account number, but Standard Bank automatically added 2 zero's to fit it to their account and so my money went into the wrong account. Most other banks would identify such a mistake immediately and make the transaction invalid, not allowing the money to go to the wrong account, but not Standard Bank. I tried to get the money back through several routes, but Standard Bank refuses to contact their client and assist me in getting the money back!!! Do I have to spend a lot of money on a laywer because Standard Bank has poor regulations on their accounts?
