FNB Visa may not work overseas

Going to the UK, I was assured by FNB it was cheaper to get cash at Gatwick. While at FNB I called the Card Department and told them I was going overseas went through all the dates, limit etc. I asked twice if my ATM pin was the same as the in-store one and was assured it was.
Arriving in the UK, went to draw cash, no luck, was 'told' incorrect pin. Now stuck at airport - no money. I had a STD card and drew money to get to London.
I called FNB service line, explained my problem, I was told FNB could not give me a new pin until Monday they would call me and email me.
Monday came and not a call/SMS/email from FNB, and I had expense to pay. Later I was at a supermarket and tried my Credit Card it worked, if the incorrect pin was used at the airport this should not be working at all!
A day later I went to draw cash and again, incorrect pin. And completely blocks the card.
Having no FNB credit card meant I had to cancel bookings and I borrow money. Thanks FNB for screwing up my long awaited holiday.
On returning to SA I went into FNB and was told that you would NEVER give a pin number over the phone - so why was I told differently.
I still awaiting a responce from FNB.
