Attempted to withdraw cash from Hilton ATM 08/09/2013 with cheque card. Card retained no cash dispensed. Card cancelled & I was informed it would take 5-7 working days to replace. Attempted to withdraw cash from Merrivale ATM with credit card on 15/09/2013. Card retained no cash dispensed. Call centre very unsympathetic & unhelpful that I now had no cards & no means of obtaining cash to pay daily paid staff. I had to borrow money. Received a phone call on Mon to tell me my card was at Hayfields, I had requested it to be sent to Midlands Liberty Mall. On arrival I was informed that the card had been returned as it was incorrect - it was a Gold card & I should have received a Platinum card. Same predicament - no cards & no cash. Paula managed to negotiate a cheque card to be delivered to Midlands by 20/09/2013. If I wanted my Credit card speeded up it would cost me R350. Why should I pay to replace cards retained by Standard Bank's ATM's. I am now battling with a temporary debit card & cannot book an air flight without my credit card - it will be a lot more costly by the time I can book it. I have been extremely inconvenienced, it would appear that both ATM's retain cards regularly
