Debt Rescue
Failure to communicate a payment increase

We went under Debt Review during June / July 2012. In August 2012 we were contacted by Jenene Louw advising us that the bank that financed our Home Loan is requesting an increase of almost R1 500.00 per month. I advised her that we will only be able to afford R800.00 extra per month and requested her to please submit this offer to the bank and revert to me whether same was accepted.

Our Application was heard in December 2012 and subsequently granted and when I perused the Court Order, prayer 3 referred to an amount that is different to the amount we have been currently paying (which is R6 000.00). When I queried this with Jenene, she advised me that according to the system the payment due every month amounts to R6 800.00 which obviously includes the increase in respect of the Home Loan. Jenene failed to inform me that our offer has been accepted. Now, 4 months later, not only are we in arrears but cannot commit to our other obligations made in that period based on a budget that includes R800.00 which in fact we did not have.

What was she thinking of not advising me?
