On the 18th of July I was involved in a car accident. Three cars were involved and I was the person in front. The guilty party at the back drove off as he hit the person behind me who then hit me.
Firstly I was told to arrange a "lift" home with the tow truck driver. This happened at buccleuch interchange and I stay in Pretoria east. Needless to say, I was not comfortable at all to catch a "lift" with the tow truck driver.
As it turns out, if the other party are also an outsurance client, you are!
I am 2 weeks from my 3 year claim free out bonus, which I now lost due to this situation, I am responsible for the excess and not able to claim it back from the other persons insurance, because it is also Outsurance and the damage will be repaired from my insurance WHICH WILL AFFECT MY PREMIUMS.
When I questioned this a I was told that if the other person was with another insurance party, they would have claimed from his insurance, I could have claimed back my excess and my claim free record would not be affected.
The excuse I keep getting is that the person who crashed into me (due to not keeping a safe following distance) is not at fault, SO AM I AT FAULT? UNACCEPTABLE!!
