Statement Nightmare

I go into the bank to ask for statements. I get told they need to order it - will take three working days. That i can handle. Then i get told it will be R20 a page. What???
When i asked how much will it be as it is a years worth of credits i am looking for. "You cannot just get credits - you will get the full statements" Great so now i have to pay for extra pages i dont even need.
Now Standard Bank - tell me why my mother went into the bank (std bank) asked for statements and it was given to her over the counter (this was statements older than 6 months) To make matters worse she didnt pay a cent. Now why do i have to pay when others dont?
I find it unacceptable.
You do not treat all your customers the same.
