Standard Bank has breached the code of conduct with me as a client. I went into the branch in Sandton City to cancel a debit order with MTN and the person concerned confirmed that a debit order cannot be reinstated without my express permission. Well... MTN has gone ahead without my permission and has with the cooperation of Standard Bank reinstated the debit order. I will be approaching the banking omnibudsman to enquire as to the appropriate action to take with Standard Bank. However, in the interim, I would like a representative of Standard Bank to explain this breach of conduct and faith that one should have with one's bank.
