Interest payment refund

Absa double debited my bond account for a number of years with double insurance payment. They admitted the mistake and refunded an amount which corresponded to a refund of the extra payments paid over a 6 year period.

Since I not only paid interest on this extra debit, am I not entitled to a reversal? My bond increased every year by this illegal charge.

If this money was in my bond as an extra payment the resultant decrease would have been equal to a refund of double what they gave me.
