Outsurance
Unconstitutional Discrimination Potential Custome

Complaint Details:

I was called by an Outsurance consultant, today, (10/07/13), as he wanted to give me a comparitive life cover quotation. I told him I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Mood Disorder in February this year, and he terminated the conversation, saying I cannot qualify for life cover at Outsurance, due to this diagnosis. I queried this, saying that I consider this to be discriminating against me, and believe the policy could be "loaded", so that I would pay higher premiums for a period of time, until the risk could be reassessed. The consultant said no, I was not entitled to any cover, as that was the company's policy. To me, this is a very serious matter, as it shows clear predjudice against me, as it is not at all fair, to say that B.M.D would put me at greater risk of death than if I had not been diagnosed with B.M.D. Please let me know your response to this query. Thank you. Louise Grenfell.
