I contacted Outsurance to apply for a Life Cover policy which includes death, disability and critical illness. I am 29 years old, unmarried, no children. I chose this policy because of the advert on TV stating that if no claims were made against this policy in 15 years all your premiums would be paid back to you. The advert mentioned a lady's name and risk profile only costed her around R350 a month. I don't smoke, drink or do any hazardous activity. I have no medical illness other than ocassional shoulder muscle tension due to stress. I was excluded from ALL disability cover because of this (despite the fact that there is no medical founding to exclude disability based on this declaration. What's worse is that they didn't even tell me it was excluded and that the premium quoted excluded it - i found this out by the by. the consultant never informed me of this - i was told she did on the recorded conversation which i am STILL awaiting a copy of as well as feedback as to what validation they to exclude disability? I consider this false advertising & gross negligence by a qualified financial provider!!! Also how do you justify R750 odd as a premium for a person of my risk profile???
