I lodged an application with the FNB Randburg branch on 5 June 2013 for refinancing of my existing bond with another bank over 20 years. The provisional approval for this application was received on 12 June 2013. The FNB Homeloans unit thereafter responded on 13 June 2013 with a request for copies of the architectural plans from Town Council, which was submitted immediately after receiving their request. Almost 2 weeks passed with no feedback until a second notification was received on 25 June 2013 that Homeloans devision requested a second valuation on the property. Shortly thereafter, I was informed that FNB Homeloans now wanted copies of the actually approved plans from Counsel. It should be noted that no feedback was received for an entire 2 weeks, and now only the second request came through. The approved plans were obtained from Joburg Counsel within 1 day and resubmitted on Friday 28 June 2013, and up to now (more than 3 days), there is complete silence and I still have no feedback from FNB homeloans. What a waste of time. Why would one actually consider to move your affairs to FNB with such bad service and turnaround time?
